MARTA SABARIEGO
POSTDOCTORIAL FELLOW

Project:

Alterations in the entorhino-hippocampal loop have been suggested to underlie the memory deficits that characterized multiple types of neuropsychiatric disorders. I am interested in the specific contributions of the medial entorhinal cortex to hippocampus-dependent memory performance and hippocampal physiology.

Awards:

- Neuroplasticity of Aging Training Grant (NIH T32 AG00216) in 2015 and 2016.

SILVIA VIANA DA SILVA
POSTDOCTORIAL FELLOW

Project:

I study how amyloid-beta toxicity spreads in the hippocampal formation and how it induces network dysfuntion in transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease.

Awards:

- Innovative Research Grant from Kavli Institute for Brain & Mind, 2018-19

SIA AHMADI
PhD CANDIDATE

Project:

I am working to elucidate principles that enable brain networks to organize their computations on multiple time scales to support learning and memory. To this end, I employ a variety of statistical and computational techniques to aid in interrogating large, noisy recordings from the hippocampus.

Project:

I'm studying the coordination of slow oscillations, particularly, theta and respiration rhythms, across different brain regions during working memory.
